In this process, you have to choose the right amount of ingredients. Moreover, there are some tactical issues that you need to follow carefully. So let’s start the main process. Before you begin the process, first gather the necessary ingredients. The ingredients are as follows:

Required Ingredients

  • Sesame oil (3 tbsp.)
  • Soya Sauce (1.5 tbsp.)
  • White pepper (1 tbsp.)
  • Vegetable or olive oil (1 tbsp.)
  • Cornflower and water mix (1tbsp+ little water)
  • Minced pork belly (450 gm)
  • Fish paste (150 gm)
  • Ladies finger (8-10)
  • Eggplants (2-3)
  • Taupok or tofu puffs (10-12)

Step 1

At first, you have to make tofu-mixing. To make the tofu mix, take fish paste, minced pork, soya sauce, sesame oil, cornflour mix, and white pepper in a ball-type container. Then mix everything well. Then cover them and leave them for some time. Until then, you move on to the next task.

Step 2

All you have to do now is wash the eggplants well. You can soak them in water for 1 hour to remove the germs. Although it is an optional but healthy way. Then slice the eggplants to a thickness of 4mm. When slicing them, do not cut the middle part. Similarly, wash the ladyfingers and slit them vertically. Now cut one side of the taupok or tofu puffs to open their pockets.

Step 3

At this stage, the task you need to do is the most crucial. Fill the meat stuffing inside the vegetable and taupok. This meat stuff means tofu-mix which you have made in step number 1. Then seal their faces with a mixture of cornflour and water. The stuffing should be set in such a way that it does not come out of the vegetables.

Step 4

The next thing you need to do is preheat your air fryer. So turn on it after connecting to a power source. Press the start button to turn on the device. Then press the preheat function if there is an option in the control panel. If your device does not have a preheat option, simply put it at 350F. Now allow the air fryer to become hot for 3 minutes.

Step 5

Now take off the air fryer basket and lightly brush vegetable oil all over. Organize the stuffed vegetable on top of the basket. Make sure to place them in a single layer and don’t overlap. Overlapping can make you cook more unevenly. If you have a lot of them, make them in smaller batches.

Step 6

It’s time to set the cooking duration of the air fryer. Set the duration for 6 minutes. Remember there is no need to change the temperature. Keep what you had during preheating. However, this amount of time can vary depending on the capability of your device.

Step 7

Then keep cooking until the brown color comes. Therefore, you can supervise a few times. If after a certain period the texture does not come to your liking, reheat for a few minutes.

Step 8

Then make the soup. For this, take warm water in a pot and add seasoning. It is enough to use any kind of seasoning. But don’t forget to add a spicy flavor. Because spiciness enhances the taste of Yong tau foo. Then pour hot tofu into the soup and serve with coriander leaves and sauce. This is how your homemade Yong tau foo is ready.
