How Long To Grill 3/4 Inch Steak? Taking the first mouthful of a well-cooked soft, juicy, well-seasoned steak is a groan-worthy experience. Based on years of grilling and research, these methods and techniques for cooking the ideal steak.

Through electric grill, one can easily maintain the heat transfer from the flame to the food. In addition to this, you can also control the temperature and automatic burning of coal. This indirectly controls the flame which is reaching the food.

To cook chicken on an electric grill, you can marinate the chicken overnight. If not over night than you can marinate the chicken 2 to 3 hours before grilling and freeze it. Marinating the chicken adds up to the flavour of chicken and enhances the juiciness too. After marinating you can place the chicken on the preheated grill

The majority of recipes are very similar. There are differing schools of thought on some topics, such as temperature and seasoning, so there is always some trial and error. That’s what I did (for a long period), and here’s what I learned.

Buy A Quality Cut Of Meat

Experts recommend buying a steak that is 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. I think 1 – 1 1/4-inch steaks are great as well (though you won’t get as dark a crust on the outside because they won’t be on the grill as long).

Preheat The Grill To A High Temperature

Some users prefer cooking a steak at a temperature of no more than 500 degrees Fahrenheit. I don’t see it this way. I prefer my grill to be blazing hot. If the steak is thicker than 1.5 inches,  finish cooking it on medium heat for a few minutes after charring both sides.

It will take 10-15 minutes for your grill to heat up. Start after the grill has been preheated.

Before you heat the grill, clean it and spray it with oil. Alternatively, a paper towel dipped in oil can be used to grease the grill.

Before Grilling The Steak Let It Come To Room Temperature

Depending on the thickness of the steak, it should sit on the counter for 30-60 minutes before cooking. It is critical for consistent cooking.

To grill steak, you will have multiple options with respect to time. Marinating the steak is a preferred option before placing it onto grill. This is because marinated steak has induced flavours, it is juicy and tender and will also require less time to cook. Grilling steak requires 15 minutes maximum. However, this depends upon the type of steak piece you intend to use. Boneless steak takes less time to cook then steak with bone.

You can customize your steak by adding multiple types of flavours and spices. Often garlic and butter are a must when you intend to grill your steak. This is because garlic enhances the flavour and eradicates the smell of steak while butter aids in ease to grill the steak.

Use a generous amount of kosher or sea salt, as well as freshly ground pepper. I like to add garlic powder as well, although it’s not required.

Using a paper towel, pat the steak dry before brushing it with oil, seasoning it, and patting it in.

Tip: Season RIGHT BEFORE GRILLING OR AN HOUR OR MORE AHEAD OF TIME (nothing in between). Just before grilling, I season.

Only flip the steak once. For medium-rare, you’ll need around 5 minutes total (half on each side) for a 1- 1 1/4-inch steak. It’s better if it’s done in a medium or well-done manner.

Start the steak at a 45-degree angle and move it to the other angle halfway through each side for excellent cross hatch marks.

Tip: Using an instant-read thermometer through the side of the steak is the best way to see if it’s done. The temperature for medium-rare will be 130 degrees Fahrenheit. 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Because the temperature will continue to climb while the steak is resting, I always pull my steak off at 5 degrees lower than what I’m going for.

Resting the steak ensures that the fluids stay in the meat. Allow it to rest for 5-8 minutes, depending on thickness, loosely tented with foil.

I like my steak salted and peppered with a pinch of garlic powder, but you may experiment with additional seasonings like chili powder, thyme, and so on.

Cook the steaks on the grill for 4 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly charred. Flip the steaks other side and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit), 5 to 7 minutes for medium (140 degrees Fahrenheit), or 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit) (150 degrees F).
