Making Okra in an Air Fryer

The first thing we’re going to do is buy the okra at the supermarket if you haven’t already done that. Wash your okra, this is a step that not many people do. Cut the stems of your washed okra. You will need to cut your okra into a uniform size or cut it into half-inch per slice.

In a bowl, and get all of your breaded ingredients which consist of flour and cornmeal. To be honest, your breading can be any ingredients that you want to be or if you find a recipe you can follow their step. In another bowl combine milk and egg. Make sure that both your egg mixture and breaded mixture are fully combined.

Add your okra into the egg mixture first, then shake off any excess from the egg mixture. Now, do the same thing for the breaded mixture. Add your newly coated okra into the air fryer basket. Spray your coated okra with oil and let’s get these bad boys cooking.

Cook your okra until they are golden brown or cooking for 10 to 12 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, you can do one of two things. You can flip your okra individually or shake the air fryer basket. While you’re flipping or shaking you can take the time to spray your okra again.

You can even add seasoning in your breaded mixture like garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. You can even add additional stuff if you want.

As for your egg mixture, you don’t have to add milk and egg into the mixture. Instead, you can use a quarter cup of buttermilk.

To maximize the taste of your fried okra, sprinkle some salt on the okra once it’s done and serve immediately.
