Does My Air Fryer Need To Be Preheated?

For most air fryers, the answer to this question would be yes. For most models, preheating your air fryer allows you to get a crispier finish on your frozen pizza crust while getting fully cooked and melted on the top.

Your air fryer is essentially a mini oven. Just as you would preheat your oven before cooking, your air fryer should be treated the same. A major pro for preheating your air fryer is that you can always follow the recipe’s timing. Most recipes call for preheating, so you can set it, wait, add your food, and forget it.

Can I Please My Frozen Pizza On A Parchment Paper While Frying?

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend you using parchment paper when air frying your frozen pizza. Most air fryers have their fan at the top of the fryer. You want your frozen pizza to sit on the basket so that air can travel beneath it. The more air that travels under the pizza the crispier the crust will be.

I find that using parchment paper or aluminum foil tends to result in a softer crust.

Instead, consider using a silicone basket. These are often sold as attachments for your air fryer and elevates your pizza so that is closer to the fan. If you do will use the silicone baskets, however, try starting the process with your temperature at about 380°F. These are great for easy cleanup and they are mostly dishwasher friendly.
