What Are The Benefits Of An Air Fryer

What Are The Benefits Of An Air Fryer And How Can It Assist Us?

After making so many posts about air fryers, why not take a closer look into the air fryer. In this post, we will see what are the benefits of an air fryer.

We have all googled an air fryer and found a lot of information about it. Some of the stuff that we found, stated that air fryers offer a healthier choice.  Does anyone know what the risks or the benefits are when you use an air fryer to cook?

Everyone loves fried food, but we are also aware that fried food is bad for your health. This is one of the reasons why air fryers have been so popular with everyone. That’s because they can cook their fried food a healthier way. Most people in North America eat potatoes than they would other vegetables. The reason they can eat so many potatoes because they can turn them into frozen French fries.

Many air fryer manufacture advertises their appliances. Stating that making fry food will be fun without having to worry about too much oil going into their food.  They also stated that air fryer food will have less oil, even if you use another method to cook your fried food.

Some people are concerned about using the air fryer. Even though there are claims about the air fryer being healthier. There is no scientific proof that it won’t harm their body in the long run. People are afraid of getting cancer or some form of toxic that has entered their body.

In previous articles, I would mention how you can cook things using your air fryer. But this time we will be looking at the risk or benefits of using an air fryer.

Do You Know The Benefits of Air Frying?

Air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food that you are cooking. It can create the same crispiness as if you were using a deep fryer. Due to this, high-calorie oil and fat are often removed from the cooking process with most recipes requiring only a tablespoon of oil.

Can you believe that? It’s true! With an air fryer you are able to use a tablespoon of oil to get the  same result as an entire liter or more of oil that would be needed in a deep fryer. Knowing this, wouldn’t you choose that method to do all your fried food cooking, if you had the choice?

Researchers have proven, that the air fryer can take one droplet of oil to cook whatever item is in the air fryer. It can also take out most of the moisture from our food making it a brilliant dehydrator. All of this is on top of the fact that the air fryer can create a Maillard effect that can improve the color and flavor of the food that is cooking.

What Are the Benefits Of An Air Fryer?

Let’s take a deeper look at some of the benefits of using an air fryer:

Weight Loss

Did you know that deep-fried food is high in both calories and fat? When you eat too much of this kind of food there is a high chance of you gaining weight.

If you can reduce the amount of food that has unhealthy oils that goes into your body, then you are on your way to losing weight. So, it is best to replace any food that is deep-fried and try an air fryer version instead, this would be beneficial to you in the long run.

Is The Air Fryer Safer Than The Deep Fryer?

Deep fryers can be dangerous because you’re heating a large amount of oil. On the other hand, the air fryer tends to get hot. Despite this, there is no need for you to worry about splashing, spilling, or submerging your hand in oil with an air ryer.

Toxic Acrylamide Formation Is Reduced with An Air Fryer.

When you’re frying your food with oil you stand the chance of creating a compound like acrylamide. This can form in some foods when you’re deep frying or when you’re using a high heat method of cooking.

Acrylamide has been known to cause some cancers like breast, pancreatic, ovarian, etc. according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. There have been some more studies that state there might be a link between dietary acrylamide, ovarian, endometrial, and even kidney cancer. Even though it is suggested that there is a link, the results aren’t certain.

When you’re cooking your food with an air fryer, you lower the chance of acrylamide appearing in your food.

The Risks of Using An Air Fryer

Now that we’ve brushed up on the benefits of using an air fryer, let’s look at the risks of using an air fryer.

Nothing Is Guaranteed

If you want to live a healthier life then the best thing for you to do is remove fried food from your life completely. Whether it is deep-fried or air fry food, you’re still not eating properly.

Even though the air fryer is a healthier choice to cook your fried food than to cook your food in a deep-fried. The problem is you’re still eating fried food, it is best to eat less fried food.

The best thing that you can do for your health is slowly remove fried food from your diet. Try to eat organic food like lean protein, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. When I mean vegetables, I mean eat other vegetables than potatoes.

More Harmful Compound

Even though acrylamide formation has an extremely low chance of being created by an air fryer, there are still other forms of dangerous compounds.

Air fryers can make heterocyclic amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Those compounds can be created by cooking meat on high heat, it doesn’t matter which cooking method you use if it’s high heat.

According to the National Cancer Institute, the compounds that were mentioned previously can be cancerous.

More research will need to be done by scientists to see how these compounds and air fryers correlate.

Conclusion

In this post, we learned the benefits and some of the risks of using an air fryer. The main goal of this post is to remind us that air fryers are healthier in cooking fried foods than using deep-fryer. But as with all things in life it has its shared number of risks. I hope that this post taught you something new.
