How To Clean Instant Pot Air Fryer So That It Is Spotless

Now that we’ve been talking about air Fryer some much, now would be a good time to learn how to clean your air fryer. So, we’re going to be learning how to clean instant part air fryer. If you want to how to clean your specific air fryer then I would suggest that you read your owner’s manual. It never hurts to read.

Best Practice: Clean Your Air Fryer After Using It

Let say that you’re cooking, I don’t know, frozen chicken tender. However, you’re cooking the chicken tender in batches, then there is no need for you to wash your air fryer at each batch. But if you’re cooking frozen chicken tender and you want to cook raw chicken then you will need to wash your air fryer accessories. As for the actual air fryer, you can use a damp cloth and wipe it.

Cleaning Built Up Grease On Your Air Fryer

Wiping your air fryer alone won’t help you. Especially when you’re using the Vortex plus or the Omni instant air fryer. You could also forget to wipe the air fryer after using it, which can also create grease build-up. In the next section, we will show you how to clean your instant air fryer.

Using Baking Soda Paste To Clean

Before we can do any cleaning, we need to get the key ingredients to cleaning our air fryer and that is baking soda paste. We have a recipe that you can use for two individual products of the instant pot air fryer.

For the Vortex Plus Air Fryer:
  • 2 tbs. Warm water
  • ¼ cup baking soda
For The Omni Air Fryer
  • Warm water with ½ cup baking soda

Use a toothbrush or paintbrush will put the baking soda paste on all of the surfaces that have built up grease.

Things To Remember When Applying The Paste:

Before we get started take the tray and dripping tray out of the air fryer.

If you not careful, the water will separate from the baking soda, you will need to constantly mix the paste. Once you put the paste on the surface leave it for about 10 – 15 minutes.

On the floor of the air fryer, place a paper towel or parchment paper to help with the cleanup.

In the Vortex Plus try your best not to apply your paste mix under the rotisserie knob. As for the Omni don’t the paste touch the connection of the heating, nor the outside as well.

You should also try not to place the paste mix; you should not place the mix anywhere that that either your rag or sponge cannot reach to clean off.

You need to be careful with the Omni Plus/Omni sharp edges, which are located there the top coil of the heating element. As for the Vortex Plus, its sharp edges are somewhere along the top.

When you brush the baking soda mix onto the section that has grease buildup it will turn white after it dries. That way you’ll know if you missed a spot are not.

Once you have finished applying the paste where they need to go, you should go to the next section. There you will know how long your paste should stay on the surface.

Let it sit for 12 to 24 hours!

This is the part that is going to make your life easier. Did you know that baking soda works well to cut any form of acidic grease? Although the solution isn’t strong it will need some time to work.

Are you ready to remove the solutions here’s what you need?

  • A cloth
  • paintbrush/toothbrush
  • Water in a large bowl
  • Sponge

Combine both your water and sponge together, rinse the baking soda solution. Use your paintbrush and toothbrush to get into those hard-to-reach places.

Try not to scrub the surface too hard, if it’s too hard if you give a little time the grease will come off eventually.

Once the baking soda solution has been removed, use your cloth to wipe off any residue that was left.

At this point, your instant pot air fryer should be looking good as new, or almost. If you want to give it a brand-new look then continue to the next section that will show you how to do so.

Brand-new: Use Steam To Clean Your Air Fryer

At this point, your baking soda solution did its job by cutting the layer of grease. If you want a brand-new air fryer, then you need to use a steam cleaner. The Dupray Multipurpose Steam Cleaner was recommended to me. According to a reliable source, this is the best product to use.

To be honest with you, and never heard about this before. So, this will be my first time using it, hopefully works out the best.

Clean the sides of your air fryer by using the brush end of your student. If you want the hot steamer to melt grease, then your best bet is to steam the affected area for about 10 seconds. Then wipe the area, to make sure that it’s clean.

If you had any difficulty getting into hard-to-reach spaces, it is best to use the fine nozzle of the steamer. You can use this method on the metal brackets of the Omni Plus/Omni and the top edge of the Vortex Plus.

You can also use the fine nozzle on the edge between the door and the glass on the Omni/Omni Plus and where the door clips in on the Vortex Plus.

Your steam should never be used on the ceiling near the fan, rotisserie knob, heating coil, and last but least the heating elements.

Don’t Forget The Trays

I hope you have been listening to me every time, I say to read your owner’s manual, then you would know that your trays can be wash in the dishwasher. Both Omni and Vortex trays are easy to clean with your hands.

Conclusion

We have used the air fryer so much that we needed to learn how to clean it. Even though this post was for the Instant Pot Air Fryer, you can check your owner’s manual and see how you can properly clean your specific air fryer. I’ll see you at the next one.
