First dish – Chicken Wings

I decided to cook chicken wings to begin my journey of air frying.  I carefully checked the fryer’s body and other parts while removing labels and glue from those parts. I washed the fry pan basket, base tray, baking pot, reversible rack and grill pan with hot water and sponge with a few drops of detergent.  I wiped the body of the fryer with a wet cloth to clean it fully.   Then, I inserted its plug in the electric socket and its digital panel immediately became alive.

Being a great fan of chicken wings since my childhood, I loved to eat deep-fried crispy yet tender chicken wings.  I tried to cook those in the oven and to my dismay, I failed to make something meaningful for this experiment.    That day, I felt pleased as I am about to get crispy and tender chicken wings without deep frying in a pot full of cooking oil.

I prepared wings by dry rubbing and preheated the fryer to 390^o degrees. Once the preheat alarm went off, I pulled out the frying pan or basket from the fryer and laid the wings in a single layer.  After that, I inserted the pan back to the fryer and set the timings to 25 minutes.  In midway, I took out the pan and tossed the wing, and again placed them back into the fryer.

After 25 minutes, I took out the cooked chicken wings and checked the taste.  I have no words to explain my amusement as the taste was phenomenal. Super crispy from the outside and extremely tasty and tender from the inside.  Since that moment, I am an avid fan of my NuWave Air Fryer Brio.

To take real care of my newly acquired air fryer, I decided to wash all the pieces by hand.   According to the company’s advice, the cooking chamber, basket, and baking rack are all dishwasher safe, which is a genuinely nice feature.  For taking care of the non-stick coating of the cooking pan I used non-abrasive cleaner and a sponge.

Another good news was Nuwave offers a mobile app called the “Nuwave Cooking Club” that offers air fryer owners access to tons of recipes and cooking techniques right on their mobile phones or tablets.

Missing Part

As a bachelor and avid user of technology, I always wish that Nuwave should have thought of adding a smart function in their fryer.   I would have saved a lot of time if I could put on my air fryer by using my mobile phone through wi-fi connectivity.  I hope, NuWave company will think over it and will add this simple yet useful feature to its appliances.
